Planning Part2

KJV-R (Webster) Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

KJV-R (Webster) Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Eph 3:20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over {and} above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] - Amplified

Eph 3:20 ¶ Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us – NASB
·         Everybody has to dream or have a vision and or a plan for life and the future.
·         God is able to do above what we think or dream of. So, we need to dream big.
·         A vision will guide you as you go on in life.
·         You go as far as your vision goes. A vision has to be clear and written down.
·         You have to be patient with your vision.
·         You need to reduce your vision to goals.
·         Set yourself targets or time frames for the accomplishment of your goals.
·         After writing down your vision, you need to pray for it and confess it.
·         Choose people to share your vision with. Some people are “vision or dream killers”. Share your vision with people who will encourage and advice you.
·         Hold on to your vision in faith and refuse to quit.
·         You are what you are today because of your visions/dreams.
·         To change your life and destiny, change your dreams. A visionary Youngman is the person who will change his future.
·         Do not worry about the past or present, look to the future.
·         You cannot do anything or change your past but you surely can change your future by the visions/dreams you have.
·         There is a saying that goes, “NOONE PLANS TO FAIL, BUT PEOPLE FAIL TO PLAN.” I ascribe to that saying. Envision, dream and plan big.
Do not limit yourself. Personally, if I were to accomplish only 10% of my vision/dreams, I would still be a big man!

Planning

A.    Introduction

  • Think about this, when in your room or house, your clothes are neatly washed, ironed and folded or hanged in order e.g. by colour, type, etc, how long does it take you to dress up in the morning?
  • Also when things are not in order, and you are not sure what is clean or not, you only wash one set of clothes at a go every evening, how long does it take you to dress up?
  • Order and planning is always more convenient though requires discipline.
  • Committee thy way to God and your thoughts, (same Hebrew word for plans/ devise) shall be established
  • Man plans, God directs / establishes
  • There is division of labor here, God has his part and you have your part.
  • Many a times we have left everything to God even what He has instructed us to do. He says “plan and commit your plans to Me.”
  • Many a times we have delegated our responsibility to God or fate!
Plan and focus on your future and those after you. Plan about leaving a good legacy.

How To Deal With Failure

  1. Introduction

  • Today I want to talk about failure
  • Have you ever failed in your life?
  • Has situations and people ever called or labelled you a failure?
  • Did you fail some, most or all your goals in 2010?
  • Then if so, I want to talk to you.
  • I have had many failures in my life
  • I have had situations that have called me failure
  • I have tried and failed in many instances, in ministry, in business, etc
  • I have been engaged in many business deals and lost.
  • I remember there was a year when selling "amacimbi" was fetching a lot of money, by then, there were Zambian people that would buy in bulk in good moneys. I took the little cash I had, went to my rural home and bought some bags of "amacimbi" but when I came back, the prices were no depressed and I could not sell to the Zambians. At that time, I heard in Harare the prices were still favourable, I sent the bags by NRZ to Harare to somebody I knew, but I lost, I never even got the money!
  • 2009/10, I got into a farming project, I rented a plot, when I got in, I was paying USD300 – USD500 a month, I invested about USD4000 last year but I lost all of it including the salaries that I was paying for the workers there.
  • In 2010, among other things, I had about five items I wanted to achieve or work on:
  1. I managed to get meaning progress towards it
  2. I failed
  3. I failed
  4. I failed
  5. I failed

In my five goals above, I got one out of five which is 20%, fail, ungraded or U, in academic terms, so, I may be looked at as a failure! (dramatize this by wearing tags of the results, pass, fail, 20%, etc and preach with them)
